WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME?
If your child is seriously
thinking about competitive swimming, they will be a good
candidate for our Water Control program. This
program also serves well as an ongoing fitness program
for the child who simply enjoys swimming, or who wants
to remain fit during the winter months in preparation
for another sport.
WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENT LIKE?
For our Water Control Program, we allow up to six
students per session. This number will simulate, in
part, what a real swim team environment might look and
feel like. They will get used to swimming with
multiple people in the pool, learn proper swim
etiquette, and take instruction more as a group, and
less individually.
WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT?
Students at this level often have a specific motivation
or goal for continuing their swimming. At this level,
all the major strokes have been mastered, and endurance
training becomes the primary focus, along with tweaking
a student's stroke for speed and efficiency in the
water. We also focus on starts and turns where races
are often won or lost.
HOW DO THEY GRADUATE?
Because the temperature and length of the pool is
designed for teaching technique, we will recommend the
student to move onto a swim team environment in a
regulation size pool once that have mastered all the
skills.
ADVANCED
TRAINING (A.T.)
 Once a student is
swimming at an advanced
Level 5 or higher, they
are eligible to join an
advanced training class.
This half-hour class is
designed to introduce
students to a swim-team
like atmosphere. With up
to six students in the
pool, the students learn
advanced techniques,
swim etiquette, and
endurance training.
